Waste Not, Need Not: The Pricey Aftermath of Michigan's Raid on Nourish Cooperative

This can be a follow-up report from the federal government raid at Nourish Cooperative (which is a farm cooperative that gives farm-fresh meals) on Could 28, 2024. Briefly, on Could 28, 2024 (the start of the nationwide fearmongering round avian influenza in uncooked milk), Nourish Cooperative was raided, and over $90,000 value of uncooked dairy merchandise have been put underneath “stop and desist” order by the state of Michigan. That means, all of that nutrient-dense meals was “underneath seizure,” simply sitting in our fridge and freezers. For over two weeks. It's fairly costly to simply pay vitality payments to maintain merchandise in fridges and freezers that we will’t promote. Plus, we don't have limitless fridge and freezer area to place new product in (that we're in a position to promote like uncooked aged cheese and meat). So, on June 8, after it was fairly clear the federal government was not going to allow us to promote this product, we emailed MDARD (Michigan Division of Agriculture and Rural Growth) asking if we will please take away this product from the fridge. We would have liked the area, and properly, product was beginning to bitter, and kefir glass bottles have been beginning to explode.
